Mail Forwarding Services

I was wondering if anyone has experience with forwarding mail while on a longer trip. We are thinking about going out west for 6+ months so it would be nice to continue to get our mail. Any ideas?

When we used to host and help set up the Holiday Festival of Lights in Charleston for 3 to 4 months at a time, we just had the post office box up our mail and send it once a week. It was about $10 each time. We had a single address to use, but I think they'll do it for you even if the address changes.

There are also several commercial services that do this, but I believe you have to use their address as your primary mailing address.

We had the USPS forward our mail to us while we spent the winter in Texas. Did the change online for a $1.50 charge to your credit card. Periodicals will be forwarded for only 60 days, so this year we will do a change of address with the magazine publisher. The USPS will forward mail for one year, 6 months with a 6 month extension.

We've been wondering about this also.Good Sam advertises as low as $9 a month, but when I go on their website, it seems like it costs a lot more than than. Does anyone use Escapees?
