Remove the cushions and pull up on the slot center front.

The cushions do not remove. It's all one piece. But thank you.

Is the sofa now a jackknife style? If so, the back folds down flat and the bottom cushions basically stay put.

Sometimes a picture or two can be helpful to members not familiar with a particular unit.

What is the floorplan? the 30DS has always had a Hide a Bed sofa, while the 2016 28DS would have been the start of the Jack Knife sofa for that floorplan. The 2015 sofas in the 28DS do not make a Bed.

@fr3eric thank you! It is the 2016 FR3 28DS, the sales guy sold it to us as a pull out couch bed. Lesson learn to have them show you it actually does and how to.

@tpatino14 one way to check If the Sofa will jack knife is by looking at area behind the back pad. The sofa's that do not jack knife will not have a cover over the back, or the insert to the outside entertainment center.

Your right @youroo! Lesson learned.
@fr3eric the outside tv components do have a cover which is why I was certain it folded out. Thanks all for your help and suggestions.
