Need help with sofa (jackknife maybe?)

My 2015 28DS has what I think might be a jackknife sofa, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to turn it into a bed. I'm attaching pictures of the sofa. Can anyone help? Is this really designed to fold out?

Nite that I bought this unit from a car dealer and he knew even less about this motorhome than I did. Which ain't much!

Unless they've changed it, you should have a sofa bed. Take off the cushions and pull up and out from the front.

That looks like one I saw in a 5'r recently. In that case the back of the sofa actual pulls up and over the seat area, converting the whole thing into a bed. Strange way of doing things and very confusing, but it worked.

We have the 2015 28DS and the sofa DOES NOT make a bed. It is just a sofa with foot rests.

Yep, it is a sofa bed. The pictures show the hinge assembly. My 28 ds is the same way. It takes some figuring out but you lift up and pull the lower section forward. I had to play with mind to get the right angle and hard enough pull to get it to flatten out. I believe there are other posts if you search that have more information.

AD2, according to your bio you have a 2016 model. Please note that the 2015 28DS DO NOT have a hide-a-bed. Trying to deploy something that isn't there you will break it.

Boozedog,

What does the sticker by the hinge in your second picture have on it? May be a mfg. and model. Always better to go to the source. Sounds like there could have been a change from 2015 to 2016. With RVs you never know when a change occurs, could be mid model year.

Hence my comment about searching other threads. Before I commented I picked the front of sofa up and looked at the hinge mechanism and they appear to be the same as far as I can tell from the picture. But I am no forum expert. Leave that to other people.
