Do you have power to other outlets? Is your rv plugged in? Or do you have the generator on?

Or an inverter.
Colourful... That plug you're referring to is your shore power 30amp plug. When you are not plugged into shore power, that plug needs to be plugged into that outlet so you'll be able to get power when on generator. As most of the FR3's, they do not come with inverters. I installed a 1000 watt inverter and replaced that outlet with a auto transfer switch. With the inverter my grandkids, when they travel with us, are able to watch videos on the go on the tv.

Drivmsafe, you just taught me something, I was wandering what that plug was for; dealer rep didn't know at walk through, and they still haven't got back to me. I just keep learning from all of you. Be safe!

We were all first timers at one time Salty. This forum, and others, has a wealth of knowledge.
It's very unfortunate that they didn't know what the heck they were doing on your walk through. Too many dealers are just out to sell you a product, and really don't know anything about the product they're selling.
You might want to contact Mike Hums. He's the factory rep for Forest River, FR3. He likes to know what's good and bad about who is selling his coaches. His # is 574-532-1240 ( last # I have for him).

Thanks, I get him a try, however, when I first got the FR3, I wanted an extra interior hand rail, (wife is disabled/handicapped) the extra rail would give her extra support while getting in/out of the MH, I told the dealer I would gladly pay for it, and installed it. I just wanted the two rails (grab bars) to match, still nothing from dealer, also I did contact FR about how I could get the rail, to date still no answer from them either. I hope having a POC will help. I bet if I would not have signed the final docs until I got the rail, I would have my rail. Like I said, I like the FR3 28DS, but the only ones that seem to have answers are other owners! I'm very glad I signed up! Thanks for you information. Thanks Saltyrod
