Oil change ramps

I was looking for a set of ramps to make it easier to get under my 30 ds for doing oil changes and installing my suspension mods. The strongest set I found were a plastic set rated only for 16k gvw.

I ended up building a set from 2x12s that clear everything underneath including the generator exhaust and work well. However, their is not clearence for a tire stop so someone has to tell me when to stop.

The 6 layers of 2x12 are 66", 56", 46", 36" 26" , and 18". To ease the transition I put a 1x4 11.5" long at the nose of each 2x12 "step" each layer is screwed together with several 3" deck screws.

With that lathe you have, I expected a solid piece milled out of Aluminum. But thanks for not showing off and giving us a humble example for us to follow. Lol. Great shop btw! Wish our FR3 had a home as such. Too bad our 30x40 barn is a little too short. Guess I need another out building.

Very nice, but why couldn't you put a stop on the front one?

Looks like a 3 axis CNC mill.

Ramps like that is the way to go. The only thing better would be a 4pc. wheel lift system, but uneccessary for just oil changes and would cost alot more money.

Doh, I built all 4 the same, and missed that. There is more than enough clearence in front. Thank you gashog

Thanks for the workshop compliments, my farm workshop is not a normal farm shop. I have a cnc mill, cnc lathe, and a 6x16 welding table .... When I get the fr3 out I'll post a shop picture.

Getting ready to do an oil change myself. Was going to use the levelers to raise the front wheels just long enough to put boards under the wheels and pull the levelers back. I figured with the back wheels blocked and the front up on blocks I'd be good to go. Any suggestions on this idea?

Pretty much what I do. I use the jacks all the time for maintenance. Just changed our oil today. Ready for the Amana trip this weekend.

Just getting all my information together. FL-820S filter and 7 quarts of oil. I need to double check the viscosity since I've heard 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30. I'm going to double check the filler cap because I know it's marked on there. I'm also going to pick up the funnel with the reservoir because the location of the oil fill is difficult to work with. Picking everything up today.

Looks good, Mobil 1, 5w20 is what the Ford manual calls out and what I use. I used an old bottle of gear lube with a nose to fill it up. Takes a while, so I might look into a pump setup.

Great ramps except for one thing. I would prefer to be lifting the rear using two ramps. One for each of the dually tires. JMHO

I bought Mobil 1 synthetic oil (5W20), and I bought a pump to pump the new oil from the big 5qt bottle into the fill port since the fill port is hard to get at.
