Oil questions

Recommended motor oil types/weights for an FR3 30DS rolling cross country. Oh, and exact location of oil fill port please.

Thank you.

2014 FR30DS nicknamed: "Dylvinia".

Oil – Ford Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W20 (7 qts)
Oil Filter – Motorcraft FL-820-S, Ford P/N F1AZ-6731-BD FL-820S

...but you aren't going to like the fill pipe. Passenger side up quite high and really hard to get into from the small hood. I finally bought a 3 feet of large clear tubing, put a couple of screen door springs in it to keep it from kinking at the bends and clipped a plastic funnel on the drivers side wiper. The pour into it from a step-stool.

Actually worked really, really well and no drips at all!

And get Fumoto valve. I poke a hole in the filter and let it drain as the filter holder holds waay too much oil, even after doing that.

Doesn't your manual have that info? This is the last place I would go for oil specs on my vehicles. Just saying.

Btw Walmart supercenter will change your oil for around 40 bucks and check your tire pressure. I paid Camping World $119. What a RIP off.

I would have taken it to the Dealer.

Have Breakfast or Lunch while getting the work done, having an "insurance policy' if they screw something up, and THEY get to worry about the disposal of oil and filter.

I used to do all my own work and finally decided there was value to having the Dealer do it. Over the years they have spotted problems that I wouldn't have noticed and advised me of a couple "campaigns" where parts needed to be replaced but didn't rise to the level of a "Recall".

Good price as long as your drain plug isn't stripped and your oil filter is properly installed.

Around here a "Senior Oil Change Specialist" at Walmart has a maximum of 6 months experience before they go off and find a better paying job. May vary in other parts of the country.

FWIW, I get my TV serviced at the local Nissan Dealer and it only costs me ~$60 which includes a full inspection by someone who knows the vehicle. More than the Quick Lubes and Walmart but I have more confidence when I set out on a 3,000-5,000 mile trip.

Download your manuals from the company's websites on everything you have in your RV. From TV, refrigerator, chassis to Ac unit "everything". You will be glad you did. This site has a lot of info but you need to have the hard copy manuals on hand for references. The Internet or your computer may not always available.
Happy travels.

If you live close to a Super Walmart, they can change your oil for around $40 using Castrol. I took mine to Camping World before I became aware of this and they charged $119. My dealer at RV Connections charges $199. What a RIP off. Btw, Walmart will also check your air pressure but you have to pull your wheel covers unless you have installed valve extenders.
