okay thinking of trading .....need help 30DS to 32DS

We have a 30DS and love almost all about it except for a few things.

We don't like making the back bed and we really don't have a reasonable place to have our special needs teenage to sleep.... (comfortably and conveniently...)

So we are thinking about the 32DS -- the jack knife love seat has to be more comfortable than the fold a bed? When boondocking it is easier to get out I would think? Also the rear couch / bunk might be easier for her to sleep in?

We wanted to go to something fully painted but i can't afford that big of a jump right now. so that is a wash. (literally )

We had installed a 2nd AC but had not converted to 50 amp so that is always a bit of a pain. Of course the generator will not run both.... aWe travel in the south and the coach just gets hot during hard driving in the dead of the summer....

So this round i think we will get super fans installed in kitchen and bath.

A steering stabilizer out of the gate (any recommendations)

An inverter/ plug installed by the front couch

Upgraded toilet?

I will not get an extended warranty as I ended up doing all the work myself ...

Anything else that you wish you would have done by the dealer prior to pickup?

Hi antilley. We have a 2015 DS. We had a jack knife couch in our FR trailer and it was not great. We solved the bed issue with a 4 1/2" memory foam that folds in with the bed nicely. We have a 5'3"/240lb 19yr opd special needs som and it works perfect for him. Kust some food for thought no matter what you decide.

Happy trails.

I put the Roadmaster RSSA Reflex Stabilizer Unit on my 28DS. Helped a lot.

Same on my 30DS. Big change in handling.

32ds

Both the jack knife sofa and rear couch bed are easy to get out and in especially after you have done it a handful of times. The dual a/c do a great job of cooling the entire unit. Once up to or I should say down to temp we will often close the bedroom door and just use the one up front when stationary. When going down the road in extreme heat one a/c plus the dash unit is more than sufficient to cool everyone nicely. IMO the steering stabilizer is not needed. However if you want it for peace of mind in the event of a blowout great. It will not help with handling. What you need is an alignment. When the chassis are sold they are sold as a empty chassis and forest river does not align them when they put everything on them. When someone gets a stabilizer usually it is aligned or at least should be and that is where the "handling" improves not from the "stabilizer."

Funny you say that about the stabilizer. The 30ds is bone stock and the only thing that bothers me about the ride is the sway when being passed or meeting a big vehicle on a 2 lane road. I guess I just adjusted after a while. I see others have just done the alignment and Cheap handling fix. Changed shocks for smoothness and are going down the road.

Fyi, all FR's are aligned before they leave the factory, it's been that way for over a year. Going to the 32 will give your daughter more room and the bunk is nice. The biggest improvement is the X package with the 50 amp service, the auto transfer switch and the 18 cf fridge. I like the 30's floor plan a little better if it was just 2 people. If you add kids into the mix, you really need the added sleeping space of the 32.

What transfer switch? I just bought a 2018 32DS with no transfer switch to be had.
