Paint Fade

Yep - I have a 2015 28DS and the exact same thing has happened. In the 12 months I have owned it I have waxed it twice (by hand) and when I noticed the fading I used a Meguiar's 3 step oxidation remover, polish, and wax. I did that twice, but it is still faded. I have it in the repair shop right now and they are working with the factory on what to do to fix. Even though mine is a 2015, it is still under warranty since it was a leftover when they were selling the 2016s.

Your not the only one. I'm waiting on spring so I can do a heavy wax on that top cap.

My 2015 30DS purchased April 2015 had a completely oxidized front cap on the top where it meets the roof 11 months into ownership. Both sides. I only noticed when I went to clean black streaks, put my hand on the top corner for balance, and what in the world? Yes, what in the world? I also purchased the paint protection that is, allegedly, sprayed on, so it was a double what in the world. FR paid to repaint the front cap and recoat it with the protectant which adds a 5yr warranty, so we shall see. I wash it every couple of months or as needed with use with TR Gel-Gloss RV Wash, wax every six months, and Lucas Oil Slick Mist the decals every chance I get, so we shall see how she holds up.

My 2014 340RK has the same paint fade issues on the top half of the front cover. Knowing that FR will not cover this in any way, I am left to have it repaired at my own cost.
The quote I received so far was to mask off decals and paint the top half with a high quality paint and then clearcoat the whole cap at $800, or go for a whole front cap repaint, with replacement decals for $2400.
Not exactly fair, but due to the manufacturer using the cheapest possible paints and materials, we are left to holding the bill for poor quality at the factory.
Instead of using cheap water based paints, the FR group should be using a high quality oil based enamel paint.

If I'm not mistaken they don't paint it I believe it's a gel coat finish just like on boats you should be able to wet sanded out with 1000 sandpaper or 1500 and then back to a shiny finish

My grandson took a rock and tried to scratch his name into the rear of our FR-3 on the flat surface just above the rear bumper. I've waxed and waxed to see l can make it disappear and it has helped but still can see the scratches. How can l fix this W/O body shop bills?

Sort of the same thing. Very faded paint and now pealing decals and paint. FR is only offering to send me new decals. Trailer was bought brand new in March 2015. Click image for larger version
