Photo magnets

Anyone come up with a way to attach photo magnets to the "non-magnetic" fridge? We've acquired quite a few over time and would like to put them on the fridge. We have some on the vent over the stove, but not enough room.

One idea might be to go to Home Depot and pick up a sheet of thin tin flashing, Paint it to match the fridge then attach it with several spots of contact cement and you have a magnetic surface for your pics. Just a thought

My wife has used *THESE* for things like you mentioned.

I believe there are more heavy duty ones as well.

By "tin" I assume you mean sheet metal (steel). Tin is not magnetic and a magnet will not stick to it.

Since the plastic "face" of the Dometic fridge (not the stainless steel fridge) is designed to be removed so decorative wood panels can be used, the black plastic sheet can be removed and replaced with powder coated or painted sheet metal as SeaDog suggested.

The advantage of removing the plastic rather than gluing a piece of sheet metal to it will allow you to return the fridge to OEM if you ever decide to upgrade the FR3.

The Stainless Steel fridge is a problem because stainless is also "not magnetic" (except for one formulated with a large percentage of Chromium).

I just had a thought a person could attach sheet metal to the inside of the plastic face removing the face and doing a quick test with fridge magnetic and sheet metal might be worth the time, keeping the same outside appearance.

My only thought about sliding it behind the plastic (which might fit), the magnets could scratch the plastic. The metal would be easier to repaint if it got too scratched up.

We use 3M command strips that have a magnetic strip attatched to them,

Wouldn't Museum Putty work?

Blue Tack works well also. Probabally the same thing as musuem putty .

Do you recall the exact name for the command strips? I been searching for them and can't find them. thanks
