Definitely risk of it igniting is hindered by a lot of safety systems. At the tank and at the appliance.
The only other thing is asphyxiation from the gas leak while you're sleeping.
When we had our gas leak this past weekend, it was hard to convince the family they're safe enough to lie down and go to sleep, when they weren't just an hour ago if you know what I mean. :-)

Joking around, but that's what we had here on our first night. Trips wrapping up now and we had a great time in Colonial Williamsburg - AMAZING historic place to visit and Charlottesville - We learned a ton about the founding fathers, fascinating.
