I saw one the other day with a black mesh attached to the inside. The mesh was very heavy with one inch square holes. But it was attached with lots of black zip ties around the cross members and that was a real detraction. I like yours way better! Please include as much specifics and photos as possible.

Here' the finished result. A couple showing how I attached the mesh to the inside of the grill doors. This is all 1/4" stainless steel bolts, washers and nylon lock nuts. I used 1/2" x 1/2" galvanized hardware fabric mesh and in the middle you can see I used 1/4" automotive fasteners. These I pushed on the mesh and over the bottom lip of each cross member on each grill door. Seems to be nice and stiff. IF you do this or something similar you have to be careful with the paint on the grill doors. The color is not molded and is a very thin paint layer that scratches easily leaving the white plastic underneath exposed.
