You say a factory rep called you to recall your rig and they didn't know how long it would take?? I wouldn't have let them off the phone until I got an answer to that question! Did he/she give you a name and a call back number??
Call them!!

This thread explains what it all about.

My experience with the factory in Elkhart is that they are prompt and very good quality. The only delays we experienced were in waiting to transport my FR3 to Elkhart and then back to my dealer after the work was done.

I would not do anything until I had a contact at FR that can be verified. The recall is public and it is not hard to find who owns that model FR product. Not saying this is the case, but a smart thief could easily get enough information to contact FR3 owners and tell them they are picking up the unit to return to FR.

recall
I have had my 2015 fr3 at factory center and would go there all the time if i could. They are way better than any dealer service, Way more resources . Excellent work. And Iam from New York.

I got a recall in the mail. Called the dealer that just happens to be in Elkhart and they are telling me that it is the trim around the roof. Technical service bulletin 68-0488. Not sure this is the same

Just got my 2017 32ds back for the same recall. Forest River had it brought back to the factory for the repair (1200 miles round trip) in November and returned it March 24th so they have had it 4 out of the 10 months we have owned it. Is it me or does it look like my 3 year old did the repair? Have also had a complete lack of transparency and communication from FR the whole time (60 days to respond). All because they used the wrong sealant on the roof from the beginning.

Looks like mine..I don't why they had to use so much sealant. Thank goodness FR doesn't build airplanes.

The more the better? My work trailer is 13 years old and has 3 feet of snow on it more times than I can count. No leaks, yet LOL. The metal roof seams are way overkill with the sealant like the recall pics.

You may want to tell them that is a very unsatisfactory fix and to get It right. They will lose customers when they turn out jobs like this. Thank goodness, our 2016 30ds only had minor problems (so far).
