My refrigerator is acting up: won't keep things cool during the day when it's hot outside. The thermometer reads 60 to 70 degrees in the refrigerator when it gets to be 90 or so outside, and the ice in the freezer starts going soft (though not completely melting).
I've been working with a repair guy to resolve the problem. Had him put in a fan to vent out the roof, but that doesn't seem to have done any good. He's contacted Dometic who say it must be the way Forest River installed it--poor ventilation. Meanwhile, I'm buying food pretty much by the day. The few items I keep in the frig are fine at night, but in the day I move them into the freezer to keep them cool.
Now I've asked the repair guy to get a new thermistor and replace the old one. See if that helps. Anyone else have problems with the refrigerator in hot weather?
Also, my air conditioner is so loud that I can barely hear the TV when it is on. I thought maybe that's the way RV air conditioner were; then I went into someone else's RV and their unit was quiet. Is there something wrong with my air conditioner or is this just a loud unit? Any thoughts?
Look up Dinosaur thermistor adjuster,it bypasses thermistor in fridge through the control board.Your adjustment will now be near the control board set mine at it maintains pretty steady @38 degrees with lots of room for adjustment
Thanks for the suggestion re Dinosaur thermistor and for the reference materials. I'm going to try another fan, this one in the back of the refrigerator. If that doesn't work, I'll look in the Dinosaur thermistor.
How level is the MH and is the fridge level within the MH?
