Replacing Vent Covers/Lids

2015 28DS.

My 2 vent covers/lids have deteriorated and need replacement. (The other ones are replaced with second A/C and maxxair fan)

Camco makes several, anyone know which one to get? Or any other brand?

1 Idea

I was considering installing a couple of these to make those new vent covers last longer.

I went with Fan-Tastic Vent Fans & Ultra Breeze Vent Covers. I can leave vents open in the rain.
Amazon: Fan-Tastic Vent U1500WH Ultra Breeze Vent Cover.

I also installed the bug screens. I always hated hearing mosquitoes inside my vent.

I watched this review before I purchased my FR3:

I have four Fan-Tastic Vent Fans with covers. Two are wireless as my DW can't reach the vents. I sometimes reverse one of the fans instead of opening a window.

Alright found it:

In white:

Camco 40155/40158 Polypropylene lids. Slides right on. Around $12. If you get this one you want to install a maxxair on top, because the polypropylene will deteriorate fast.

Camco 40168 PolyCARBONATE lids. $20 each. These slide right on as well and will hold up much better. I like these better because otherwise I think the roof gets so 'cluttered' with 2 AC's and 4 maxxair covers... Plus I never open these 2 vents, and have the camco insulation pillows in them...

Easy replacement. Only thing I can say is the retention clip doesn't fit in the new Camco lid 'slide' so I didn't use it. Works as it should. Also nice to see the 12V hookups right there when working on the vents.

Before you take off the ceiling assembly cover, unscrew the 2 screen screws first, or the mounting rings will break under its own weight .

And don't forget the crimp the ends of the lid hinge so it can't slide off (reverse this step to take the old ones off)
