RV keyless door lock

I just tried installing an RVlock Keyless Class C/A entry handle on my FR3 30DS. The two large latch bolts on the new handle are too short and the old bolts have a different thread. Has anyone else tried to install this handle, and how did they resolve the bolt problem.

What length and thread size do you need? Have you tried a hardware store? RV doors can vary by only a small amount on thickness, did you call RV Lock and ask about your bolts? Youroo!!

The bolts I am talking about are not just regular bolts, they are the two large bolts that protrude from the lock and go into the latch plate on the left side of the door. Nothing you would find at a hardware store.

Hope you have better luck than I did. Does your handle have 2 large bolts that go into the latch on the left side when closed? Those bolts when screwed all the way in as they should be, are too short, and will not allow the door to close.

And yes I called rv lock in Utah, it was Friday at 1:30 pm and I got an answering machine saying it was after hours. I will try again tomorrow.

RV lock

Motorhome is back in storage, so I only have pics of the new lock. The 2 bolts that are too short are below the deadbolt and above and below the latch.

I had the same problem with mine. Company told me to get an Allen wrench and back them out a little ways. I did so but I also applied some Loctite to them when I put them back in. Has worked like a charm ever since.

Thanks I was concerned about using Loctite semi-permanent might back out and permanent would be a problem as things shift and wear on the door. Did you use semi perm Loctite?
