Safe t plus stabilizer

Hello fellow FR3's

In reading the benefits of having this Safe T Plus stabilizer unit installed I am convinced it's s must. Can anyone please advise what the part number is for the 30DS and the approximate cost? Sounds like it's something that has to go into the service center for. I'll take care of the CHF at the same time.

Thank you so much and stay safe y'all

Part #41-180. It can be self installed. The hardest thing is getting the correct adjustments. It comes with install instructions and the Safe T Plus website has an install video.

We had the front end realigned after the having the safe t plus installed. Just got back from our 7k shake down trip and found that the above improvements combined with slowing down when semi s passed made for comfy steering.

If that price includes the mounting hardware, buy them!
I paid $446 for the safe t plus, plus $59 for the mounting hardware from PPL back in Feb. At that time it was the cheapest I could find.
Part #'s are; 41-180 (safe t plus) and F-119K2.5 for the hardware.

PPLMotorhomes.com has the strut for $445.97, plus $9.99 shipping. $59 for hardware. I always search google for the PN, then click the shopping tab, then select the first one. In this case, it says "Compare prices from 10+ stores" and it'll show you a quick break down of what Google sees as the lowest price including shipping. Usually its close enough what I can find without much trouble. Let us know how it rides afterwards. I have yet to do the mod and curious.

Hello All, if I bought this, but asked the Ford dealer to install, any estimate on labor hrs; I did the CHF in 3 hrs (old man needed lots of breaks) ha; when I go get front end alignment done, I would have them do first .

Thanks

I found a brochure online that said standard installation time is 30-45 minutes. One would think you would only be billed for one hour. If I recall correctly, the service shop I used put down one hour.

Install time should be no more than 1 hour to install the strut itself. They may charge you additional time for road testing and adjustments. You just need to be sure they know what they are doing.

If you are going to get an alignment and have the safe-t-plus put on I am not sure I would go to a dealer. The alignment spec can be very wide and it may already be within the spec. I would take it somewhere that does a lot of work with motor homes and knows how to align them. Finding one that has installed a safe-t-plus before would be a bonus. It can take two or more adjustments to get this get this thing lined up right. It could take a couple of hours if they brought it back to the shop each time.

Install is really a no brainer as long as you have a 1 ⅛ deep socket and a long pipe to loosen an tighten the bolts. Me and my FA took about two hours to install and adjust. If the coach is driving straight and not pulling an alignment most likely not needed.

That is a little higher then we had to pay but worth every penny. Drives so much better. We did not align after as it drives well!

Same here, should arrive tomorrow or Wed, I watched the install vid on Safety Plus site, I feel I can do it, looks the same skill level as CHF, maybe even a little easier
