Any photos, ideas or thoughts re screen door? That plastic slider and no grab bar is just not working for me. Thank you!

X3 on the screen door handle. Have put them on both RVs as soon as I got them home. Well worth the money.

My previous rig was a 2010 Rockwood UltraLite.
I did a little mod on the screen door that -
assuming the outside door was already open-
allowed me to open the screen from the inside WITHOUT
having to slide that @#$%^& plastic panel to the side.
It was GREAT.
I just chased the old thread and the referenced links no longer work.
It involved taking a bicycle spoke or any suitable stiff piece of wire and
making a little lift wire that stuck thru the top corner of the screen door
just at the upper right corner of the slider. (but not thru the slider itself).

It was awesome and you didn't have to slide the slider to open the screen
from the inside.

Unfortunately my new rig has a slightly different design on the slider frame
and the mod won't work on it.

It's amazing to me that the makers haven't figured this out yet!!
They've been putting slider panels in screen doors for YEARS and we still
have to slide them to open the stupid door!
Argh!!

If you look at my pic of our screen door in post #4 above, you'll see a handle on the slider that looks like a toilet flush handle....this worked the lever on the other side when it was pushed down and you did not have to slide the slider to open the screen door.....we've since traded RVs....this was the screen door on our other rig.....on the 5er we now have, that little white handle won't work....I did take the lower grill and upper grill off and mounted it on the 5er screen door when we traded.

Installed one on our old trailer a few years ago.

It was the very-first mod I did to our next one.

Would not want to be without it, as it makes the door feel more substantial.

We purchased a post with an angled washer that fits into a hole drilled int the sliding plastic piece on our screen door. With the slide closed, you lift up on the post (from the inside) and it pushes the handle down, releasing the door.

We also added a grab bar that fits across the screen door. I believe we bought it at Camping World.

We also just added not 1 but 2 of these handles... best idea I've ever had. One above the slide door then the 2nd 1/2 way up on the bottom screen. Found when I was going in and out if the wind would blow and the door started shutting I'd naturally put my hand out and WAMMO.. right into the screen, so I solved that problem before I had to replace the screen. Alittle extra grab bar when coming in and out.. wouldn't want to put ALOT of weight on it but great for stabalizing... DW... Debbie
