Shore power on 2015 FR3 30DS

Ok, the 30amp shore power cord is in the very back compartment on the drivers side of Jenny. Jenny is the name of our FR3. Ok, so you unscrew a huge black plug in the bottom of the compartment to drop the 30amp wire thru. Then what? Talk about a super highway for unwanted little friends to make home in the rear compartment. What are folks doing to have the cord out and plugging up that hole a guy could drive a FR3 thru?

You know that black panel that you removed, take one of the round hand hole screw in plugs and cut a slit in it just big enough to slide the cord into then put a piece of rubber with a slit in it and install from bottom of plug, rotate 90 degrees before you start sending screw it in. Use the current plug when traveling. I haven't done this yet but that's the master plan!!!

Thinking about that extra plug to cut it out, I'm going to cut that plug to exacting size of the 30amp cord for the tightest fit without posing and harm to the cord. I want it tight so unwanted guests can sneak in when I'm not looking eh.

You can also purchase a cover that has a slot with a slide that will close against the cable when on shore power. It screws into place. It basically replaces the screw on drain cover. I found mine online but, Camping World or most RV accessory places carry them. Below is a link for CW.

Good to know, that fits in the hole that the screw in cover goes in? I like that better. I'll check at my local RV shop for one.

Jenny. You just remove the screw in cover and the electrical cover has 3 screws that you can attach it over the hole.

Do you have the make/model of the one you purchased? In checking online, I notice there are two different manufactures, JL Products and RV Designer (B101). Since we both have the 2014 FR3, I just want to make sure I buy the one that will fit. And did you have to replace the old one, or does the new one screw in, like the original? thanks!

It doesn't hurt to add some steel wool as well.

Good luck,

Kswhodat.. I bought the one shown in the CW link, only white. It lays over the existing hole and has 3 screw holes to attach. It fights right in.
