Slide Seal Ripped.

Has anyone seen this happen? Talked to dealer today, getting price on fix. Looks like this seal is all one piece, metal and rubber. Looks like the cables will have be removed.Click image for larger version

Let me know what you find out. I posted earlier this week about the same problem titled "32ds slide trim weatherstripping" Apparently I am not the only one with exact same issue. I wish people would chime in with recommendation when they fixed theirs if they did. Mine is not under warranty and I am not interested in driving 8hrs round trip to nearest dealer and not having it for a month etc...

Seems we are the only ones on this forum that is having this problem. My 2017 30DS bought new and only has 4000 miles on it. I hardly ever use the thing and is enclosed 24/7. For a temporary fix I used Gorilla tape. Mine is also out of warranty. Dealer is getting me an estimate to fix. I also noticed the front seal is torn at the bottom 1 inch. Gorilla taped that also.

I just went out and looked at bedroom slides. Both wiper seals are torn from the bottom up 4 inches. Repaired with Gorilla tape.🤯🤬[emoji36]

I noticed our living room slide seal has come loose at the bottom. Have not researched yet, so will be interested in your results.

I keep my slides out when parked in the drive at home. I noticed the slides stick after a week or so.I started using a spray made to lubricate the slides. Most RV part stores carry it and have even seen it at Wal Mart in the auto department.
Take a look on Amazon for RV slide lubricant, lots to choose from.

Thanks for your input. I don’t think my issue is lack of lubricant. My dealer said to use Pledge on seals. I really didn’t care much for that idea so I got online and read that 303 was good for rubber and that what I have been using. I did buy some slide out lubricant today, I will see if that helps.

slide seal woes

Man I still cant believe there are not a ton of people that have ripped seals. I think all mine are torn some and the living room slides exterior most seal is pretty much completely torn both sides. I wish more people would chime in to acknowledge this is a common problem to a certain extent if it is.

Factory tech said to use baby powder on rubber slide seals on my Entegra MH months before I sold it. worked really good. Used a paint brush to put it on.

I went to Lippert presentation at Goshen this year. Techs said to not use anything on slide seals they said to wash them regularly with a mild soap and that was it.

303 Aerospace Protectant. I put it on my seals and things to keep them from drying out from the sun.

Easy to replace Wiper Seal

Just buy the wiper seal peel and stick from this company. Works and looks better than the original. Takes about 5 min to install.
