Slide toppers

Is it me or dose the material used for the toppers just seem very thin. What's the life expectancy and what's the best care for the material?

I have always just used mild soap and water to clean. I had them on my last TT and had no issues for the 7 years I owned it.

He is asking specifically about the FR3 Motorhome. Thats why he asked in the soecific model forum rather than the open forum. The cleaning info is the same but the tyoe of top use will be different.

Seems a lot of folks dont realize there are model specific areas. Strange.

I don't think awning mfgrs change materials on slide toppers just because it goes on a FR3 MH.

Well I also have an FR3, but as Oldcoot pointed out they are all pretty much the same. I guess it was wrong of me to give a generalized answer on the life expectancy as well as a cleaning method. Zippy chill out a bit and realize I was just trying to help. Cheers All!

Purchased ours in July 2008. The topper made by Carefree of Colorado and was dealer installed. Clean it with either the stuff we use on the roof or a mild mix of Clorox outdoor bleach, same stuff we use on our regular awning.

No issues, not as white as it used to be. And usually stored with the slide out.

Of course this is a 5th wheel...
