Sofa replacement with double recliner and seat replacement

I am in the process of removing my sleeper sofa and replacing with double recliner No console. Ordered recliner from amazon $599 free delivery. Will post pics when finished. Also replace drivers and passenger seat with Flexsteel seats. Feels like I am seating on a cloud. I can drive all day and not get tired. Worth every penny.

I'm also in the process of swapping out my 30DS sofa sleeper for a set of Thomas Payne Recliners with center console. I got the idea from a previous post under "Modifications and Updates (http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ts-144155.html). My dealer's going to perform the swap next Tuesday.

Fred,

Do you have a website and or part numbers for the Flexsteel seats you ordered?

What colour brown is that as I have seen a few...did you have problems swapping out and anchoring to slide?

It's called "Majestic Chocolate" in the Thomas Payne Collection. The brown is slightly darker than the original sofa color.

As for installation, the back of the sofa comes off by sliding it up and was removed through the door. It's attached to the slide with only 2 "L" brackets and 4 screws. The recliners are attached to each other much like a sectional sofa and secured with 4 screws on each recliner. No penetration through slide floor.

No problem it went right in used the old L brackets that held down the sofa and secured to the frame of the recliner.

How did you get the sofa bed out that came with the RV?

The back is not secured with any fasteners (e.g. screws or brackets). It fits/slides together much like sliding 2 forks together on on each side. It was a tight fit, so you will have to apply some upward force and wiggle to get the back and base to separate.

I just took the cushions off and zip tied the bed so it would not spring out. I screwed 4 L brackets from the floor and took it out the door. It is heavy and takes two people to do it. Also I unscrewed the door bracket at the bottom of the door so the door would open further.

How hard was it to get the recliners inside the coach? Does the back separate from the base? Are they expensive?

Sofa replacement

New recliner came in several pieces. The base was the largest and it fit thru the door with no issues. The recliner was $499 thru amazon. Homelegance double reclining loveseat brown bonded leather.

Our recliners also came in several pieces. All pieces fit thru the door with no issues.

I have a Jackknife sofa directly across from a queen sleeper sofa. Queen sofa sleeper is comfortable but you can't use both at the same time due to space limitations. Inspired by your post I found these on Amazon. I may have to rig a cargo strap or something for transit operations. What do you think? Click image for larger version

Could I ask you the length of your recliner sofa? I love the look of yours but we’re having a hard time finding one that will fit in our 3011DS slide. Thanks
