My equipment is installed in a Power Armor battery box so it would only be a top down view. The box is big enough for 4 batteries but I only have 2. I put a divider in the box with weatherstripping along the edges to prevent gasses from the batteries migrating over to the electronics. The charge controller, shunt, and battery monitor are mounted on a piece of plywood so that I can remove them in the winter when the trailer is in long term storage. I put this board, along with my batteries, in the garage for the winter. They are hooked up to my ground deployed solar panels to maintain battery charge. The power inverter is mounted directly to the battery box so I might leave that in place over the winter.
Everything is kind of a tight squeeze in the Power Armor box but it is well protected from the elements and theft. The box is mounted between the propane tanks and the front of the trailer. I used 2 square u-bolts to attach it to the frame. I am very satisfied with the Power Armor box and would definitely recommend it. If I ever upgrade to 4 batteries I would move the inverter, charge controller, shunt, and battery monitor to the basement which would only require about a 4 foot run of wires.
