It's the Lippert triple step that is failing. Label may say LCI. Mine is a 2014, early model, maybe one of the first off the line. Mine broke in the first month. Dealer replaced them with Kwikee double step. Seems much stronger.

Mine say Coach Step, No lubricant required. Nice, I guess. Ours did break on our first trip. They were repaired under warranty, and service center said it is a very common step, there's nothing wrong with the quality. It was the gear box, same as the photos in the earlier post. They said they had FR send a new one, they weren't going to try to repair it (the gear and the bolt). They did seems surprised that it broke.

I now put the orange leveling pads under ours. I can't remove the 3rd step because when we camp, I actually need to add a 4th step.

On Thursday while entering Vancouver, Canada, my steps would not retract. Tried calling Forest River, no luck! Called dealer couldn't help. Custom Police yelling at me to move my rig...finally dis-assembled the motor/clog plate and zip tied the steps shut...I am big time #<#]%...should say, tried to find a fuse! No luck. When I get back home will need to this repaired.
