Stolen Headlights

Came up on the motorhome this AM and found this. It was the original headlights/assemblies from a 2015 FR3 30 DS - is there some market out there for these that I'm not tracking? Who steals this kind of stuff?

Damn, I've never seen anything like that. Who steals your headlight assemblies but doesn't break into the coach and take anything else? Maybe check with the local police and see if an FR3 has been involved in an accident in the recent past, or if anybody reported any vandalism to their unit. You might also check with local body shops to see if any of them have had a MH in for sheet metal damage to the front end lately.

Capt Mike is asking the right questions, but regardless, I'd be livid!!!

And given that today's vehicles....cars, SUVs, Pickups, vans, RVs ALL have proprietary designed headlight units, it's not like you can go to an Auto Zone, O'reillys or such to get them replaced. Especially RVs, what's your chances of finding replacements at an auto wrecker yard?

I think the headlight assemblies on an FR3 are actually a GM part from the Silverado.

Those assemblies are not anywhere close to cheap. I wrecked my 2015 GMC last May and the headlight assembly alone was over $850. There is a huge black market for parts like that, and usually some local salvage yard is buying the stuff up for peanuts from the thieving bastards.

I'm tracking the same on potential fit/replacements based on other threads in the forum - basically the same set that goes on an 07-13 Silverado will fit the hole. Looking at a couple of options now. Open to any advice if someone has a brand (other than Chevy's OEM version) that is working well for them. - Many thanks -

Yep, not proprietary. Seen GM headlights here on Mohos. I remember a one that used from a Nissan pathfinder...

Had a buddy that had his truck lights stolen at airport long term parking. He arrived at night and could not drive it home. Security footage showed them trying to get I to the truck but failing so they just took the lights.

I've seen cars on blocks in malls where the tires and rims were stolen and those lug nut locks are worthless. You put a socket over the nut with an extension and wack it with a 5 pound sledge and the stud and nut snaps off.

Big market for lights, wheels and other goodies.
