you won't be disappointed. I have the hardwired version. My camping buddy has a portable version. They provide the very same protection, just personal preference. I prefer mine hidden, plus the remote display is awesome.

Surge Protector

Progressive hard wired, mounted behind the breaker panel. The first time I ran the generator, I found out Line and Neutral were reversed.

Progressive Industries 30a hard wired with remote display. It's downstream from the generator so covers that + shore power. I really like having the display to see how the power is coming in and how many amps I'm using.
