Tail Light Assembly

I just replaced my third light in the tail light in just under 18 months. That has to be the cheapest, crappiest tail light on the market. I want to replace them with a bigger and better LED set, but all I can find for flush mount assemblies are too small, about 6 inches by 2 and quarter inches tall. I'm not sure these flimsy things can stand being taken apart again, two lights out on my last trip.
Any ideas?
