The Maiden Voyage

Just took the new 2016 FR3 DS30 out on its maiden trip to Zion National Park from Southern California. I'm somewhat irritated at the dealer for the lack of a pre delivery checkout, as we found several issues including one big safety issue, misadjusted headlights. Neither of the headlights was pointed at the roadway.

The issue bothering my daughter was that the inverter was inoperable and the generator had to be on in order for her to watch a movie.

Has anyone else ran across this issue and how did you resolve it?

I don't believe FR3 currently deliver with inverters yet. We have a 2015 30DS and you have to run the generator to run the TVs/Microwave/AC/etc. Headlights being misaligned is a common delivery complaint, which I think should be on the burden of the FR to check that out. Also, double check your rear sway bar bracket on the axle before you put too many miles on it. Best just to do the CHF while your there. Congrats on the new RV, but plan on doing some minor fixes to make it right. Most dealers I read about on the forum aren't particular known for their customer service. Sad...

The 2016 definitely has an inverter, it's mounted on the left wall of the rear storage area across from the shore power plug. Strange they did not include that in the orientation eirher

On our 2015 model, thats the location for the converter to charge the batteries (120 VAC to 13.6 VDC). Mine is a Inteli-Power PD9270.

This is correct it is a converter. The 2016 does not come with an inverter.

As stated, I'm pretty sure you'll find that box you're looking at is the converter.
