Theater seats

Sofa.. we want to replace sleeper sofa w theater seats. Fr3 30.

How is the sofa attached

Does it fit thru door

Do we just measure the sofa and get new one that is same dimension

Do we leave legs on the new set

I just had my manual theater seats removed and replaced with Lippert power theater seats.

They pop apart and come in several pieces; 2 seat backs and 2 seat sections. Made swapping it out VERY easy.

I know the FR3 has a narrower door, but we had plenty of room getting the pieces in and out.

Buying from a furniture place that does not cater to the RV community could cause problems getting a fully assembled piece of furniture through the door.

I have seen folks having to remove windows to get stuff in and out, so be careful what you buy.

Check out the RecPro theater seats. Best upgrade we have done in our 3051 to date.

They come in bottoms and back separate so easy in and assembly. Complete dimensions on their site as well.

Theater Seating

I concur with the last post! We installed RecPro seats on our FR3 30DS. The hardest part was disassembling the sofa to get it out of the coach. We found it easiest to remove the sofa seat back, then disassemble the sofa bed and remove the sofa in three (3) pieces- the sofa back, foldaway bed and then the sofa bottom. We are so glad we made the change; the theater seats are amazingly comfortable and the electric function makes it an added bonus! The theater seats are extremely easy to install- they come in 5 pieces: 1 center console, 2 seat backs and 2 seat bottoms. There are lots of youtube videos out there to help. Good luck!

I have a 2017 32DS and the awning, battery disconnect, LED light switch, and over the cab bed controls are attached to the side of the sofa/bed along with two heater ducts. Has anyone dealt with this while replacing the sleeper sofa with theater seating?

I took out the cheap jack knife sofa from our Wildwood 263BH. Replaced with Thomas Payne recliners. Absolutely the best mod I’ve done. Came in 4 pieces. Bottom, two backs and center console.
Install was easy, took about sofa and wood frame, and new recliner bolted to the slide floor. I just need to fab up a new trim piece in the front and stain to match Click image for larger version

Just google Thomas Payne recliners. They are made for RV and they are excellent quality. You can get basic hand operated like mine, or get ones that are push button with led drink holders. I actually bought mine on EBay. They were brand new for $750. They were shipped freight to my driveway. Plan to spend 750-1200 based on your choice and size

Ours are manual operating seats. Less worry of something else failing while on the road lol

I don’t have power reclining but I have heat, massage, and lights. After figuring the watts required from the ac adapters I wired in a small inverter under the seats and plugged them into that, I wanted to still be able to use them on fishing trips off grid. They’ve been working great for a couple years now.
But the motors in the power versions could draw more juice than mine you would have to check.

Weight of recliner sofa bed in the Dynamax Isata#

We want to replace our sofa bed recliner in our Dynamax Isata3. We are trying to be conscious of our weight limit. Does anyone know how much this sofa weighs?
I'm new to this forum. I'm not sure how to post a new thread.....

I can tell you it does weigh more than the jack knife sofa I took out. I’m guessing 150 all together. Mine came in 4 pieces, 1 being the bottom seat. I was able to move and handle myself

I used a couple of the original couch screws and secured the seat belts around the frame. But honestly mine doesn’t move around much, the arms are a perfect fit in the slide.
