Whatever vehicle you have is most ideal. We tow our minivan on a dolly and it works for us. Others tow CRVs, Jeeps, SmartCar, etc. Just depends on whether or not they can be towed 4 wheels down, 2 wheels down, no wheels down...lol.

Honda CRV 4 wheels down. As with the Jeep, don't even know it's back there.

I dolly tow a Camry, or 4 down a Civic, and just recently got a Saturn Vue to 4 down. (The grandson now drives the Civic.)

Ford C-Max Energi, 4 wheels down using blue ox equipment. Charge the C-Max overnight via the 20 amp outlet and get 25 miles on a charge; when that runs out the hybrid engine kicks in. On a bad day the car gets 65 mpg; on a good day 99. Perfect for our traveling party of 4 adults.

I tow a 2015 Kia Soul.

Very inexpensive to buy.

Towing and set up is effortless.

We flat tow a 4 door jeep and it is right at the max tow limit

We also tow dolly a Hyundai Santa Fe on occasion....

Not sure how a few of these options are meeting payload and total weight limits....

We went with the Chevy Sonic, with automatic trans. We tow 4 down. Hook up is about 5 minutes. No issues through 2400 miles.

I have dolly towed a Chrysler mini van, a Kia Soul and now I'm towing a Volkswagon EOS. Would not trade dolly towing for all four down.

Here's what we tow. Only vehicle to tow. Go as far as you can in your motor home. Then go the rest of the way in your jeep 4 X forever
