Top person to contact

Does anyone know the name and email address of the top person to contact re an unresolved problem with a 30 ft. 2014 FR3 motorhome? The problem is with the Ford chassis which Forest River chose for their FR3. We have repeatedly talked with Forest River service dept. and the Ford Motor Co. The motorhome has been in for repairs on 5 occasions since April. It was in a Ford approved repair shop each time, the last time being for 9 days. The problem continues. I have tried unsuccessfully to learn the name and address, also email , of any if the top people at Forest River. Does anyone have that info you can share? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

It has frequent loss of acceleration or loss of RPMs. Initially we thought it was due to being a new RV and possibly having moisture in the gas tank. After taking it on the first long trip in April, we knew that couldn't be the problem. It will suddenly and randomly refuse to accelerate. No warning g lights, nothing shows on the dash, and the motor doesn't die...at least it hasn't yet...and after maybe 10 - 20 seconds it starts running correctly. This has happened countless times and is scary when we're on a freeway, in particular.

Sounds like a drive by wire issue.

We have spoken several times with a gentleman from Kevin Stratton's office. He has been in contact with Ford but nothing seems to work as far identifying the problem and how to fix it. We took a trip to Arkansas last week and the motor home behaved the worse yet on our way home. I have reached the point where I don't want to travel in it. The repair shop has now installed some type of remote monitor on it yesterday. In the time it took my husband to drive it less than 30 miles from the repair shop to home, it did it's loss of RPMs 7 times. The problem now is none of the mechanics or techs know how to read the data. Yes, I'm serious. We have been on the phone with the trucking repair shop. Ford, and Forest River throughout the day. We get nowhere.

I can understand your fustrations but sometimes issues are hard to find and take some time.
I don't think calling upper "fr" management is going to help much if at all.
It's a Ford issue really, including "warranty"
That is who you should be calling.

Yes, it's a Ford issue and we called Ford in April..that was where we started by calling the number on the Ford warranty. We contacted Forest River because it is a Forest River product and we were looking for some help to move things along with Ford. This has been going on almost two months. When it began, the RV had less than 10K miles. It's quite disappointing to say the least.

I would be riding Fords wide side like an A-10 set on seek.

If the shop you have been going to can not deal with the issues you need to find another shop even if it means having it towed to and from and tell the Ford factory they will be getting the bill.

We have asked Ford where else we can take it. So far, they're sticking with the current place. I hope if this place ends up being unable to interpret the data on the remote monitor, we will become so irate Ford will give us another repair shop to try. My husband has called other Ford truck dealer's and repair shops to no avail. But we've been pretty nice thus far. That won't continue much longer.

Question, we do you keep getting it back if they can't find what's wrong?

Each time the repair shop said it was fixed. It wasn't. They say they can't identify the problem now which is why they installed this remote monitor that apparently no one knows how to use. The data is sent back to them but they say they are now waiting for a tech who can interpret the data input. This person was supposed to be there today. Today we were told he would be in tomorrow. I am not making up this stuff! This is what has been happening and it leaves us between a rock and a hard place. We bought this brand new, paid cash, our retirement dream. I'm feeling quite bitter right now.

We had the same problem with a fleet of Chevy Tahoe,s we used as patrol vehicles in a previous job. Turned out to be throttle bodies. It happened to a lot of them. I had it happen on 81 in Va. Took it to the local dealership and they replaced it. I know the FR3 is a ford but it is a thought.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I truly appreciate your input and support. I will keep posting and hope that soon I can say the issue is fixed...really fixed. I will tell my husband what you posted, fpo 1123. Thanks again.

Fpo 1123, I just told my husband what you said and he said the repair shop replaced that part. It was their first repair. Right after they did that, we thought it was fixed but it began doing the same thing after about 100 or so miles. My husband asked them if they could've gotten a bad part since it seemed to work initially but they nixed his idea of a bad part.

Ask your Ford dealer to make an appointment with the Ford regional rep for you, or that you want the number for the warranty center in Chicago.

Or go to the national highway safety web site and issue a claim. Tell the dealer 1st and you may be surprised how fast you get help. The NHTSB will help you as what you are saying is very dangerous.

Either that or maybe I can get Mark Fields private number for you.

I'm with Turbs in thinking it has something to do with the throttle body. If they replaced that, I would make sure the wiring to the throttle body is good. I'd ask the shop if an intermittent wiring connection to the throttle body would log a fault code.

I'm a bit puzzled that they put on a monitoring system, but can't interpret the data...makes me wonder if they know what they're doing.

Another idea is to find out what sort of fuel pressure you having before/after this event. Food for thought.
