tow

Hi
We are thinking about getting a new FR3. Will it be easy to tow a vehicle with this? What's the best way to tow?

Thanks

We use a Blue Ox tow bar and baseplate for the toad. Have towed a Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee over 30000 miles with no problems.

I use a DEMCO Commander Tow Package with a SMI Play In Stay Duo Brake Controller to tow our Chevy Colorado. Easy Peezy!!! I've also towed a Jeep Liberty with no problems.

We have a 2014 FR3 30DS and tow a 2014 Honda CRV four wheels down. Use Demco connections coupled with the Unified Tow Brake system. Not the cheapest option but very reliable. The FR3 has a 5,000 lb tow capacity, so the 3,500 lb CRV is well within the limit. An SUV style vehicle is great for towing given the added storage space with the back seats folded down. Takes about 10 minutes to setup. Note: 2014 is the last Honda CRV model year that can be towed 4 wheels down due to a transmission change. If you can find one they are great towing vehicles.

We tow a 2019 Kia soul with a tow dolly with electric brakes. The FR3 30DS dose a good job towing the vehicle. We use a tow dolly because we can tow any front wheel drive vehicle we want to and don't have to spend thousands of dollars converting tow vehicles.

Happy trails.

Tow Dolly also. We are a 28ds. The only pain is storing the tow dolly somewhere out of the way. I have had campgrounds charge me extra for the tow dolly. Didn’t ask or complain as it was only $5.00.

I have a Master Tow Dolly 80THD with electric brakes for my front wheel drive Ford Taurus. I can open the Bedroom slide with the tow dolly attached.
