Towing

With the brake regs and prices for tow bars, if I had a MH and a toad I would just buy a 2 axle car trailer with breaks and a loading winch (your friends will call you instead of AAA) at least mine would not to mention my kids. Just a thought with a trailer you can tow anything of legal weight, but will need to park it somewhere at home and camp.

I'll check them out next month for a cost. I'll probably buy the parts and have them do the install. I'm pretty handy, but I really don't feel like tearing my car apart to do the install.

They're not cheap MaltnHops but, like you, I didn't want to have to tear the front bumper, etc. off the front and do the modifications that need to be done. Peace of mind came to play here. I looked at a lot of supplemental brake systems on the market and decided on the SMI Stay-In-Play Duo because it's permanently installed under the hood with the on/off switch installed on the kick panel by the emergency brake.
You also might want to consider having a towed vehicle battery charger installed. RVi Brake has a 2 wire set up that only works when the towed vehicle is connected. No more dead batteries for me!

Good to know. My Veloster is a push button start, not sure how the battery drain will affect on long trips. I'll look into that!
