Towing a boat with stock hitch
Is anybody towing a 20-25 ft boat with their stock hitch?

What does the boat and trailer weight? What's your RVs towing capacity? Not just the hitch capacity.

We tow our 21’ with the receiver that came with the RV. Use the same hitch we use with our F150.

If you are towing with a fr3 your towing capacity is 5000 lbs.

I did some searching online and found out my exact model boat weighs around 4600 lbs with the trailer. The rating on our receiver says 5000 lbs. So overall weight and tongue weight are pretty close to max. I’ll probably take it to a shop and have it upgraded/welded in.

That weight is without gas, batteries and gear so plan accordingly.

No it includes trailer. Trailer is around 1100 lbs.

It could easily weight another 1000 lbs once loaded and full of fuel

Yeah I’m sure of that! I’m going to get the stock unit upgraded anyway. It’s too close to the max rating leaving no breathing room.

So I was searching through the owners manual. My 30DS has a 18000 lb GVWR and a GCWR of 23000 lbs. which leaves me with 5000 lbs towing capacity whether I upgrade the hitch or not...

Seeing boats behind class-a's all the time, and reading this thread, may I pls ask the following:
Am I the only one that wonders?
HOW THE HECK do you get the boat off the ramp in the water?!?!?

Not much different then when we use our truck. Sometimes cannot go that deep in water with wheels as you would with a truck. We back up until the boat floats or the RV wheels touch the water and then drive the boat off. Knock on wood, we have not experience any issues launching with our RV.

Huh. 
I can almost guarantee that if I was trying to launch a boat using my Georgetown....there would be some significant water intrusion 
in my rear luggage compartments if I went in as far as having my rear tires touching water. I have a fair amount of motorhome real estate past my rear axle......and I’ve seen longer.
