Two unrelated questions

#1 Had to replace a defective pump. All went well but looks like some scale from hot water heater got in the lines. Heater has since been drainer/cleaned. Didn't know to drain from anode before low point. All are fine but the toilet. Have watched EVERY video (easy when toilet is on the workbench) on how to remove the "easy to remove valve" to clean screen. Can't get the tabs depressed on the Dometic 300 series. Any tips? I don't want to break it!

#2 Replaced the WAFCO converter with Progressive Dynamics. 2 Group 24 12 volts are 3 years old. Have charged for 24 hours. Looking at my solar controller it shows 12.6 volts but only 80% charge. Is that something with the controller reading or are the batteries so old they won't get to 100%. They were also on the WAFCO converter for a couple of days prior.

Planning to replace with 6 volt batteries just wondering about these 12 volts. Last camping trip, after 6 hours on generator, they were at 50% the next morning with very little power draw that night.

Thanks

Your post will get better response to #1 in Forest River Tech Talk > General Tech and Repair > Plumbing and Water Systems & Fixtures.
And #2 in Forest River Tech Talk > General Tech and Repair > Electrical, Charging Systems & Solar.

FR3's come with a Progressive Dynamics converter.

I how get the help you need.

Robert,

Thanks

I posted on the Tech Talk board about a week and a half ago. I got Zero responses. Thought I'd try here.

I upgraded my Dometic 300 to a Dometic 320 two weeks after I bought my FR3. Never had any problem with my Dometic 320 toilet.

I replaced my Converter with a Samlex EVO-2212 Inverter/Charger.

I replaced my lead acid batteries with LiFePO4 Lithium Batteries.

How many watts of solar do you have? 100 watts will only charge your batteries at 5-6 amps.

Lead acid batteries charge quickly to 80% then real slow the last 20%, up to 20 hours.
