Updated forum app now has advertising
I thought this forum was for the sharing of information among FR owners, just updated the app to find ads now in the topics. For heavens sake - enough with bombarding me with ads every time I connect.
So if I stay on the forum, big if, I solemnly swear NOT to click any advertising links or purchase any goods or service from any of the links. Enough is enough.

Anything free has to have ads to be self supporting. Ads are easily ignored and just part of getting to your desired content, just like commercials on TV.
I enjoy the free forum, that doesn't beg for donations, or require membership fees. I'm amazed the site team can provide such a great forum that supports so many of us, for free!
If the ads bug you so much that you can no longer enjoy this great forum, perhaps it is best you leave. The rest of us will still be here

There are many threads here that deal with ads on the FRF app and the Tapatalk (which many use to access this forum) plus ads on the full site accessed by a browser. Most of those many threads have suggestions for using Adblock, Adblock Mobil and the like. Some people refuse to use these blockers. Maybe one these ad blockers would help you.

Hi;
If you are using a PC, you can down load a free AD Blocker APP. This has worked great for me. I was having issues with another RV trailer site that took forever to load and locked up sometimes do to the streaming advertising on their site, now no more.
I have notice on my wife's I-pad that Google is now placing ads on these devices also. I am looking into which add blocker app to down load on her I-pad to prevent these.

Ad blocker it is, I typically use an IPad to access the forum. All of these ads and other content are getting to be huge nuisance. For those that think they are getting all of this for free are mistaken. The price you pay is the data that gets collected and mined for information on everything you do on the internet.

Two similar threads going on at the same time, so I will quote my own post in the other thread. . .
You could pay for a blocking software or you could get most of the benefit for free. Just google 'block ads host file'. You should see Windows, Apple, and Android versions to follow. All this method does, is redirect the hundreds of adware/tracking mess to a non-existent IP address. That renders it useless for the most part.
I get nothing but the RVLife short list on the right. I allow that one. Plus, the pages load much faster. This method doesn't allow the address, so it won't matter if you use web or an app.

Not sure about Db, but over the years I dropped the paper. It isn't even local anymore. I am down to one magazine. The home phone is gone, it seemed mostly for telemarketers anyway. Cable is next to go. . .
