Water Heater, Faucet and Toilet slow or no water

For those that may have found that the faucets and probably the toilet get plugged up with a WHITE sediment....here is the cause and the answer. Take out the ANODE ROD from the Water Heater, clean the tank out GOOD, and then replace the rod. Here is a pic of the BAD one and then the GOOD one. Check and change it once a year. When you buy one....get 2, one for a spare.

Yes that is the Cause of the "White Crud" but installing a New one just Helps FEED the Cause! The one you show has Plenty of LIFE left! Installing a New Rod is just "Fresh Meat"! Youroo!!

I am not sure I understand. Basically an anode rod dissolves, an old one or a new one. They are both going to break down. Putting in a new one is the same as using the old one unless the old one is completely dissolved. If the old one is completely dissolved, I guess you do not have to worry about crud getting in your water lines but you might end up needing a new water heater.

One think to consider, always drain your water heater before opening your low point drains. That will help reduce pulling crud back into your fresh water lines.
