What is under the bed in both models? And closet in 25ds

Hi. Have the FR3 on my list. I have a couple questions about the bedroom which I believe would pertain to either model (tho' I'd get 25ds).

I'd like to know what is under the bed platform. In my perfect world, I'd like to just have a room there with flooring and a sleeper sofa in the slide. I think part of the garage goes under there but do any mechanicals? Wondering how doable my idea is. Minimally, I'd like to shrink back that platform as much as I possibly can.

My other question is the giant armoire/closet in the 25ds. I'd like to remove it entirely and put dog crates there or expand the dinette into a huge u-shaped booth. I have no use for that giant closet but am concerned what I'd lose as far as storage, etc. from the outside. Or if there are mechanicals hidding in it?

If anyone could help me understand these 2 things I'd really appreciate it.

I have a 25ds so I can only speak of that. Under the mattress is plywood covered with carpet. Under that is the big basement storage area. The large closet does not contain any thing, there may be wires behind the bottom drawer but I did not see any.

As for adding a bed there are already two others, the overhead bunk and the dinette. I am 6'2" and I have slept in both although I have to go diagonal in the dinnette.

Storage is an issue, there is not a lot in comparison to larger coaches. I think you could take out the lower part of the large closet for you dog boxes and still lots of room above them, unless you travel with Marmaduke!

That's what I wish it had - A real u-shaped booth. Wider. Wish someone around me would get one in.

Well as for the bed, the photos I've seen don't show a giant hole for the garage? Are you saying the entire bed platform is just a big hole under it? If so, then I can get that platform out of there. Interesting!

If you take out the bed and the bed platform you would have to rebuild that part of the floor under the bed. You would have more than enough plywood from the bed but you would want to be sure it was supported properly from below. You would need to figure out how to have the floor overlap when the slide was put in and out. You would also loose the tallest part of your large basement storage but you with the slide one you would have a room that would be about seven feet square. Do you not sleep? We were sold on the FR 3 because it is the ONLY thing in that size class with a real king size bed, a must have for tall people.
Good luck, I will be installing sliding basket system in the big closet soon and will post pics.
