White Spot on Windshield

Just noticed this White Spot on the drivers side windshield. It doesn't leak but never noticed it before. Any ideas as to if this is a real problem?

Darn Seagulls! Looks like a lamination problem.

De-lamination of the glass. Likely won't leak but could spread over the years. Definitely a warranty issue on a new unit.

This is the company that mfg.'s the windshields for the FR3. You might want to give them a shout and see what they have to say. I dealt with them when I had to replace our windshield. Nice folks!

Sure looks like the start of delamination. Definitely a warranty item.

Have you noticed if the spot changes at all during the day? Any condensation?

I'd say the glass layers are separating. That could become a real issue if it leads to a shatter at some point when you are driving. Not a likely scenario but why risk it.
Get it fixed!

10/4 In the old days, windows had a plastic in between the window halves to protect shattering upon impact...don't know if windows have changed, as I've not broken one lately.

You may want to show it to one of those windshield specialists who replace cracked, damaged, etc. They could probably tell you in a minute what is going on and then you could decide on how to proceed with a claim.

CARL 17,
Travis Bird is the FR3 factory warranty representative. His phone number is 574 206-7635. Email is tbird@forestriverinc.com. Send him your pic of the white Spot and a pic of the Guardian code on the passenger side lower corner of windshield. I believe the windshield manufacturer had a bad run on their windshields. Hope this helps Carl!
