Windshield repair

2015 30DS--2nd time going in to repair windshield leaks/sealant issues. In addition to the repair, I'm concerned about the sealant used for windshield. It's tacky to the touch and it seeps down onto the area below windshield. Bugs get stuck in it gross!! I can't remove the residue with regular soap or black streak remover. The dealer suggested I use a marine rubbing compound. Also they told me that I have to have the sealant redone around the windshield yearly. Doesn't sound right to me. Any tips, suggestions, comments.... I wish it had a regular old windshield gasket. I have see the 2014 FR3 with a normal windshield gasket. Just frustrated!

Is the RV dealer doing the work or a windshield place? This shouldn't be the case of sealant running down after the repair.

Most of the previous posts on this the problem was not fixed until windshield Pros did the work.

I brought it back to the dealer. Also contacted Forrest River regarding the type of sealant they use at the factory. It should be a Dow brand urethane used for the windshield. I passed this information along to my service guy. They did finally agree that the initial repair was not done properly. Hopefully this fixes the problem. If not I'll go to the "professionals".
