Cleaning the Awning

The other day I went to the dollar store and picked up some cleaning solution and some other stuff. One of the cleaners was called L.A.Awesome or something like that. I mixed the solution that was in concentrate. I mixed 1/2 cup of this Awesome to 1 gal of water. It worked fairly well..

Your Welcome 😀

Being my first time to a dollar store I was quite skeptical of its cleaning power. To my amazement it worked well. I think I'll be buying more of it in the future.
For a dollar you can't go wrong in my opinion.

Any time you use a strong cleaner on your awning, you should treat it with something like aerospace 303 once it drys.

I use Awesome all the time, but a word of caution. It is a very potent cleaner and can even strip paint or lacquer if used in full concentrate and left on for very long. I love it and buy it in the liter bottles. I would not use it straight on an awning. Dilute as recommended.

BTW I have seen that others have recommended Aerospace 303 and was just wondering if they reapply every 3 to 5 weeks as the bottle recommends?

Every 3-5 weeks assumes that the surface is exposed full time to the elements. Unless you are a full timer odds are the awning spends most of it's time rolled up, hence less frequent. It is fairly easy to see when the surface starts to looked dried out. A strong cleaner will take it off so reapply after a strong cleaning.

Totally Awesome has received tons of praise and many positive results in these forums and many have stated they used it just as you did....to clean the awning. Others have also reported it will strip wax and stuff so do be careful with it.
