Not trying to steal this post or anything. But I do have a question on the leaf spring shackles. From my experience working on trucks, shackles normally hang down and the spring attaches on the under side. Are trailer leaf spring shackles opposite? Iv honestly never paid attention to the shackles on my dads boat trailer iv towed the last 15 yrs. But I will start paying attention to trailer leaf springs from now lol

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS, when you jacked it up to change tires, the equalizer link flipped and allowed the shackles to turn up instead of down

So you agree these look wrong? Everyone else seems to agree that his shackles look correct. Which is why I'm asking my question as its backwards to what I have always known. Like dont want someone to replace leads when that's not the issue lol

Jack up camper on the frame, remove the tires on that side, for working room, insert a long bar into the shackles and flip them over; if not enough room, you can remove the bolt from one spring to make it easier to do.

I'm wondering if people "think" they need to replace the springs. They bring the camper in and tell the shop to replace the springs, and the shop just flips the shackles and tells the customer the springs are replaced lol terrible, but I could see shops doing this :-/

I'm sure this happens. In my case my leaf spring was broken and it was the second one that had broken, so I replaced them all. I don't have the camper at the house or I go at a look at the hangers position. Those still look correct to me.

Also, LCI said everything is correct as pictured but that the springs are in need of replacement, of course.

Tires hitting floor
I just did bearings and seals on my Puma, and found a broken leaf. Replaced all 4 from local trailer supplier @ 45 apiece. You have the all metal link between the springs, you might talk to LCI about a rubberized link between. I have used them on two rigs now, and they really help the ride. Are you getting the impregnated sleeves also with new springs, as the old ones could be plastic, and they don't last long. That means you should have new bolts also.

Kujsop, I had the same problem with a different type of a axle. Mine didn't have enough travel distance between the tires and floor. Forest River didn't agree and didn't want to help. I put a lift kit on mine because of the style of axle. My problem showed up after I changed the tires to the new Carlise HD and upgraded the load range to class d from c. The tire is slightly taller than the original Westlakes even though they are the same size. Good chance that your new tires are slightly taller too.

So put the new springs on, wasn’t a picnic either and exactly the same. These were 1350 lb springs and they look exactly the same with the same distance so my guess is this is how it rides? Was hoping they were upgrading my springs when they sent them.

Nothing was sent except for the exact same springs that I removed. Had to use all the same bolts, besides the ones I broke.

What size axles do you have? They should have sent based on the weight of the trailer.
