2018 Legacy Upgrades

I visited Forest River Legacy Factory in Elkhart the other day.

FYI: Forest River has replaced the Scwintek system on all Legacy models with
hydraulics

they now come with all aluminium wheels and pullout slide for the
generator

the front and rear fascia have been changed as well as HDMI wired

I have a 2014 Legacy and these are much needed changes

Smile 2014 vs 2018 Legacy

I love the new Legacy. I might be changing soon myself.
Anyway take the plant tour and see them being built!
By the way ask to see Mitch Wirt he is the best Forest River Ambassador.
I was so frustrated with Camping World Service, their excuses, poor warranty work. Now, that's if you want to leave it for 3--4 months and still not get the hands on customer service/warranty satisfaction Mitch and the plant personnel will give you.

I wonder how these new 'hydraulic' slide mechanisms are impacting room in the storage bays?

Space loss to hydraulics?

Actually, there is more space the way they have redesigned the basement.
Only the large side is hydraulic the bedroom side is a redesigned electric motor.
They have set slide in the middle of the side and has a beefier motor and well designed gear set.

it looks like they've moved away from the former 'compartments', to the more standard luggage bay doors as seen on most other Class A models... nice.

Wow, new slide mechanisms are much needed. We plan on having ours forever so I guess we are stuck with the Schwintek slides for the foreseeable future.
