2nd Direct TV box in the bedroom 2018 38c

Has anyone added a second direct tv box in the bedroom? We currently have the box in the electronics cabinet under the tv. But.... it sure would be nice to change the channel from the bedroom. I couldn't find an installed coax or hdmi in the bedroom. Has anyone added one? Or other options to use the sat remote in the bedroom.

On my new Dish sat, I had to bypass the coax on my TT and run the coax from the sat directly to the receiver. (no splitter allowed). I have read, that I can use a splitter coming off the receiver (hdmi) to another TV. Currently , I am trying to figure the best route for the line to the second TV. So I am interested in your question.

If your goal is simply to change the channel from another room, why not install a remote extender or get a direct tv box that comes with a Bluetooth remote?

If your goal is to be able to watch two different stations on two separate TVs, that’s when you’ll want another receiver.

I had a similar concern when I installed our Roku boxes, so bought the version with Bluetooth remote. It works outside, in the bedroom, etc...

I have two DIRECTV receivers in our coach both using the radio frequency (RF) option for the remote controls. The RF option is multi-directional and works from anywhere in the coach. You can call DIRECTV customer service to help configure the RF option. You may need to upgrade your remote to support this option.

Yes. Works great.

Have the Genie Master in living room, and Genie Client in bedroom. Power Pass Splitter is in the bay where the RG6 from the dish comes into the trailer. From there I connect to both places (one in, two out). Bedroom receiver 'sees' the Genie Master wirelessly.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will talk to the dealer about running a coax to the bedroom.
