Cockpit dash removal

I am trying to figure out if the Legacy cockpit dash removal is a DIY project. Dash air distribution is stuck on defrost and think I may need to replace actuator under dash. No one close to me will work on my Legacy so I may need to do it myself. I already replaced dash controller and it didn't fix it. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 2015 legacy. I pulled the dash about a year ago to replace the dash blower motor. It was not a terrible job. The plastic side panels had to come off first. The plastic tracks for the night shade had to come off. Then the screws across the top of the dash under the buttons. There are 2-3 metal braces under the dash that need to be disconnected. I used wooden blocks to hold up the dash. I was able to pull it out 4-6 inches and raise it to allow enough room for me to get under it to remove and replace the blower. I did not remove any wiring but did have to remove some ducts. Iím not sure where the actuator is that you are looking for but before you pull the dash you may want to pull the radio/center section. There is a lot of room behind the radios and you may get lucky and find your problem there.

Thanks. The actuator is mounted on the air distribution system where the blower is attached. I can see it, and reach it with one hand, but not enough room to remove and replace. I'll give it a closer look when it warms up a little. It's 20 out now.
