The bathroom door lock does not lock on newer RVs as a safety feature. Years ago (He's 26 now) our son locked himself in an RV bathroom when he was young at an RV dealership when it was 100 degrees. The dealerships tech had to take the door off to get him out. Even for a few minutes we nearly had to take him to an ER. It similar to the old refrigerators a child can die in the heat in a locked RV bathroom.

From a (Safety Side) a person only has a VERY SHORT period of time to Exit a RV that is on Fire! Interior door locks are a Very BAD idea! Just for a Safety point on door locks,if your unit has (2) Exit doors make sure that they BOTH are UNLOCKED from the OUTSIDE so you can EXIT from the INSIDE when needed! Some RV exit doors (CANT) be opened from (INSIDE) if Both OUTSIDE locks are in the LOCKED position! Youroo!!
