Electric Brake Controller

Does anyone know if the Legacy is prewired for a brake controller? I assume it is as it is a 7 pin connection. If it is, do you know where it's located and any idea what wiring harness is needed for a Prodigy P3?

Also, does anyone have any input on how electric trailer brakes work with the Jake on? I'm wondering if I should start looking for surge brakes instead.

It is prewired,BUT.....the connector that would tie into the coach is only available from Freightliner.....for about $140! Ridiculous! Here's what I found that might work for you. Look at the base of the steering column for a blue connector. That bluejackets will come off the pigtail there and you can see what connector is required for the controller. There are, however, no pins in the blue piece. The pins would have to be assembled on the wires and then inserted into the connector. I know there's a way to do it, but I couldn't figure it out. If you get the plain pigtail for your controller, you can put the pins on and use the blue piece to make your own pigtail. Otherwise, you have to cut the wires and hardware the controller. The wiring diagram is available on several sites or someone at can provide it to you. Good luck - another reason I like the controller required!
