First PM on oil and Chassis

Well soon the Legacy will be coming out of the winter storage location.

Called the Freightliner dealer who is 2 miles from where I keep it.

#1 cost for a full oil change along with fuel filter and grease the chassis...$285.00 Not that bad and now thinking I will do it spring and Fall..

#2 batteries seem to not have enough starting power. Asked factory for wire diagram which they said they do not give out. Why my chassis batteries are not being charged while plugged in?

#3 Freightliner said that warranty will cover the batteries from the day I bought it for one year...Great news...July 18th was my buy date in 2015

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the factory will not give out the wiring diagram. Heard the before and the logic totally escapes me. I would love to have one for trouble shooting.

I agree. It's not like it's Top Secret or anything....if it was, I know a mail server where I could just get it myself! 😝. On my old Hurricane, the Thor folks sent me everything: wiring dis grams, plumbing diagrams, framing layouts - the whole ball of wax!

Winnebago has electrical and plumbing diagrams and a lot more available for anyone to download. Seems like any manufacturer would do that. I would at least like to know the location and type of all the fuses..... They seem to be all over the place.

I would just love to hear a reason why diagrams are secret. Seems to me a manufacturer would want their rigs maintained as good as possible rather than cobbled up with crippled wiring while trying to trouble shoot something. Please tell me it's not to protect dealers service bays! That would be crazy. No one at my dealer would know if the difference between wiring diagrams and comic books.

Yep, I figured out that my dealers employment test for rv service techs was......."Does he have a pulse?".....hired!

However, I ran into the same thing when I was troubleshooting an inverter issue a while back.
FR would not release an electrical drawing....and I figured out why....there is none!

And if they don't have a pulse, they are put into the parts department.

This seems odd but on our 2014 Legacy we have a battery wiring diagram stuck to the inside of the battery compartment door.

Well she went in for her first major service. Oil change with filter, fuel filter, chassis lube and inspect the air filter and change it if needed. Mechanic at Freightliner said getting to the filter was very difficult and require removing the assembly to see its quality. $487.00 later she is complete. Both Chassis batteries were changed as they found them bad which caused me to have to use the Aux switch to get it running..

Just finished mine a couple days ago, DIY job in the driveway. I bought and air filter but won't change until it shows a bit of restriction on the gauge. The damn thing is so big it's hard to find a place to store it. Under the bed for now. We are leaving for a trip to the Canadian Rockies soon and I wanted everything fresh for mountain climbing.
