Front drop down bed

I have a 2014 Legacy 340KP with a drop down bed over the cockpit. I am now getting it repaired for the 5 time. The issue is motor fault. It gets repaired works one time then does not work again until it is repaired. Has anyone else had this issue? If so any recommendations on how to repair it so the repairs last.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

PM me your email and I'll send you the manuals on the bunk motor system. It tells you how to clear the faults, etc., and I think it will help you get it figured out.

Do you still have copies of the manual available? I need to clear error codes and have been unable to do so. Dealer can't look at it for two months!

Just sent the manuals. Please let me know if you don't receive them or have any problems. Good luck!

Just wanted to let you know I was able to clear the error codes and reset the limits up and down. Working fine now.
Thanks again for the manual!

Anyone ever get a rattle in their front bunk when on rough road?

If so, how did you eliminate it?

I found that the rivets on the bed, located on the bracket that raises and lowers the bed were not long enough and not properly set. This allowed movement and squeaking when driving. I drilled out the rivets and replaced them with small bolts and aircraft nuts. I have a 2015 Legacy.

We seldom use ours, only drop down once in a while for storing linens but I hate that thing. Would not have got it if it was not already on the coach. 90% of any rattles and squeaks we get on the road are from that bed. I slept on it once just to check it out, not again. I have pieces of moulding, shims, cardboard, you name stuck all over to quiet down the rattles.

I have finally got it fix after being in the shop for a total of 90 days. The issue was it it was not seeing the parking park as being set. A loose connection. Come to find out there are 3 wiring hornists on the system and had the system manufacturer puzzled until FR got involved.

And to the others yes it makes a lot of noise and FR said they fixed that when they took my coach back in for warranty because of all the issues I was having with it. 5 pages of 8 items per page.

It’s published somewhere but can’t remember.

It’s a fairly high number though like 400-500 lbs if I recall.

We have had two adults on ours numerous times with no issues.

Only two things that rattle are the pins and the rails themselves have a bit of movement in them which create most of the rattle. I solved this problem with those self adhesive felt pads. Now it is impossible for any metal to metal vibrations from the rail to the frame.
I put some electrical tape around the pins too, better fit and not sloppy.

I’ve read other places that the weight limit is 350 lbs but can’t verify that myself. Only thing we’ve ever used the bunk for wastwo granddaughters with a total weight just over 100 lbs (plus bouncing, of course!).
