No Girard, thank you....

A few months ago, we purchased a gently used (only 5K miles) 2014 FR Coachmen SportsCoach Cross Country. After we made the initial purchase offer, I discovered that the coach had a Girard tankless water heater. Upon doing a bit of Internet research, I found that--quite literally--there were no positive reviews/comments on the Girard system. And...there were "tons" of criticisms, many of which are echoed above.

I called the dealer and told him the purchase offer was off. Of course, he wanted to know why and I told him about what I'd found. He wanted to know if there was anything that could be done to change my mind---my immediate response was, sure, put in a standard water heater at no cost to me. After a bit of back and forth--him complaining about the cost and me saying it was a deal breaker--he relented and I have the standard water heater. And....I'm darn glad I do!!!!

Oh, BTW, the 2015 SportsCoach models no longer have the Girard water heater. Hummmm......

i too had some problems but called girard talked to there tech support ended up being a bad freeze sensor that the unit would just cycle with in itself
then i was having low pressure in the shower which i use a water regulator and a external filter always have on my rv's but since up grading rv's i need to up grade to a higher volume filter and higher pressure regulator
but i was very happy with there tech support, i got a response back with hours of sending them a message thru there web site

phone number

Call Girard at 866-559-1221 and ask for a tech. They were a great help to me. They had me perform a few simple tests and identified my problem. The water heater has a two year manufactures warranty. After I told them I could do the work myself they mailed me the part and I was back in business in a few days.
Couldn't ask for better customer service then that.

No word back from them on my original email or my follow up email. I plan on calling them on Monday or Tuesday, when I can spend some time actually checking stuff on the RV while they're on the phone.

Disappointing to hear about your lack of response, I had higher hopes for them.
Hopefully the phone call will be better.
