No Girard, thank you....
A few months ago, we purchased a gently used (only 5K miles) 2014 FR Coachmen SportsCoach Cross Country. After we made the initial purchase offer, I discovered that the coach had a Girard tankless water heater. Upon doing a bit of Internet research, I found that--quite literally--there were no positive reviews/comments on the Girard system. And...there were "tons" of criticisms, many of which are echoed above.
I called the dealer and told him the purchase offer was off. Of course, he wanted to know why and I told him about what I'd found. He wanted to know if there was anything that could be done to change my mind---my immediate response was, sure, put in a standard water heater at no cost to me. After a bit of back and forth--him complaining about the cost and me saying it was a deal breaker--he relented and I have the standard water heater. And....I'm darn glad I do!!!!
Oh, BTW, the 2015 SportsCoach models no longer have the Girard water heater. Hummmm......
