Question Hot Water Heater not firing.

Hello, I have a 2015 Legacy and we are traveling in Colorado. Went to bed last night with hot water but not this morning! unit turns on when hot water knob is turned but no fire. Anyone had this issue or a pointer to where to look? I have a full propane tank.

check on the water heater...there is a reset button ...very small on the water line and if the water went off quickly you may need to reset..

Also check the sail switch on the heater exhaust fan and make sure air is coming out and the sail switch is swinging freely in that air. If it doesn't close the sail switch to indicate proper exhausting, it will shut off the burner.

If you PM me an email address, I have a trouble shooting manual I can email back to you. Assuming you have the Girard unit.

Never got a PM back so not sure if you still need this or not, but here's the Girard manual with troubleshooting steps for anyone who needs it. Explains a LOT about how the unit really works. Also, you can always get them on the phone out in CA...their service guy out there is fantastic!GSWH-1-Serv-Man-web-v.pdf

Do you have gas at the stove and furnace? If not, check the main regulator at the tank. I'm on my second one. Replaced CAMCO's with a FISHER.

Smile Sorry, got side tracked

Thank You for the replies, I was able to find this topic on U Tube.
I turned off the heater (switch out side in the unit itself). I ran each faucet starting at closest to the heater making sure all air was out of the lines. I then went out to heater and turned back on and WOW!!!! IT WORKED! I did not expect it to work and was pleasantly surprised. I was at a campground and saw a mobile repair guy, he was working on another unit and I asked him to come take a look. While I waited I tried this. When the repair guy came over to help we were all fixed. We cooked a extra plate and had lunch for his trouble. Was a great end to a frustrating morning!!!
